Votre roman est imprégné du réalisme magique cher aux écrivains latino-américains et s’ancre en grande partie au Venezuela, mais il est écrit en français. Une manière d’enjamber les frontières ? Oui, j’ai rejoint la grande famille des auteurs qui, de Nabokov à Beckett en passant par Kundera et tant d’autres, ont choisi d’écrire en français, alors que ce n’est pas leur langue d’origine. Your novel is imbued with the magical realism beloved of Latin American writers and set in Venezuela but written in French. Is this a way of crossing borders? Yes, I’ve joined the family of authors, from Nabokov to Beckett and Kundera, who have chosen to write in French though it’s not their native language. I went to French schools, but my writing is nourished by syncretism. My mother is Venezuelan, my father is Chilean and I grew up in France, Italy, Portugal
