GALERIE VALLOIS Dans un Saint-Germain plutôt

It was risky to open a gallery dedicated to new realism in traditionalist Saint-Germain. Nathalie and Georges-Philippe Vallois have succeeded with artists like Jean Tinguely, Niki de Saint Phalle, and Alain Jacquet. Their second space on the same street allows them to highlight narrative figuration, graphic novels, and pop realism, from Paul McCarthy to Je Mills. Currently on display: Peyback, Richard Jackson, Julien Bismuth. With its elegant glass facade, the Loevenbruck gallery brings art to the street and catches the attention of passers-by. Here you’ll find the best of the contemporary scene, with bold choices, like Philippe Mayaux and Dewar & Gicquel, both winners of the Marcel-Duchamp prize. The gallery also publishes artists’ books and catalogues. They’ll showcase works by Steven Parrino in April, followed by Philippe Mayaux in May. Since 2019, influential German gallerist David Zwirner, with galleries in London, New York, and Hong Kong, has occupied a former prosthetics factory in the Marais. Zwirner represents more than 70 avant-garde artists and has recently shown works by figures like painter Hugh Steers, photographer Christopher Williams, and sculptor Harold Ancart.

GALERIE DAVID ZWIRNER Depuis 2019, le puissant galeriste allemand David Zwirner, déjà présent à Londres, New York et Hong Kong, a investi une ancienne usine de prothèses dans le quartier du Marais. Représentant plus de soixante-dix artistes avant-gardistes, il y expose des pointures internationales tels, ces derniers mois, le peintre Hugh Steers, le photographe Christopher Williams ou le sculpteur Harold Ancart. audacieux et souvent primés, comme Philippe Mayaux et Dewar&Gicquel, tous deux récompensés par le prix Marcel-Duchamp. La galerie publie également livres d’artistes et catalogues très soignés. À voir en avril, les œuvres de Steven Parrino, suivies en mai par une exposition de Philippe Mayaux. Avec sa longue et élégante façade vitrée, la galerie Loevenbruck fait sortir l’art dans la rue et attise le désir des passants.
