Marathon A historic women’s race to bring the Games to a close On 5 October 1789, thousands of women gathered in front of the Hôtel de Ville in Paris to march to Versailles to demand reforms from the King. The route of the marathon from Paris to Versailles was chosen as a reference to this women’s march. The organising committee has even decided to close the 15-day long Summer Olympics with the women’s marathon. This is a symbolic decision, since the norm is the men’s marathon to close the event. réunissent devant l’Hôtel de Ville de Paris pour marcher jusqu’à Versailles et réclamer des réformes au roi. C’est à cette marche des femmes que le tracé du marathon, qui reliera Paris à Versailles, a décidé de faire référence. Fidèle à sa volonté de valoriser les performances des femmes, le comité d’organisation a même choisi de clore les 15 jours d’épreuves des Jeux Olympiques de Paris 2024 par le marathon féminin. Une décision symbolique puisque, habituellement, c’est le marathon masculin qui sert de point d’orgue à l'événement.

Public venues Open to all There should be no shortage of places to celebrate victories during the Olympic and Paralympic Games Paris 2024. There are many unique venues where you can join in the excitement of the sporting events. Fans will be able to follow the exploits of their favourite athletes at the Club France in the Parc de la Villette (19th arr.). And the public will have the chance to share a special moment with the athletes at the Champions Park at the Trocadéro. For the rst time in the history of the Olympics, all the medallists will be invited to join in with thousands of fans, in a majestic venue in the heart of the city, accessible to all free of charge.

De nombreux sites exceptionnels, tous gratuits, permettront de vibrer au rythme des épreuves sportives. Au Club France, installé au parc de la Villette à Paris (XIX e ), les supporteurs pourront ainsi rencontrer les athlètes, assister à des démonstrations de haut niveau ou participer à des initiations. Au Champions Park du Trocadéro, immense arène capable d'accueillir jusqu’à 15000 spectateurs par jour, les médaillés olympiques dé leront au lendemain de leurs exploits. C’est la première fois, dans l'histoire des Jeux, qu’un tel dispositif est mis en place. Jusqu’alors, seuls les détenteurs de billets pouvaient voir les athlètes, et pas toujours de près. Dans ces di érents sites, des écrans géants permettront d'assister aux épreuves olympiques et paralympiques.

Celebration A year of Cultural Olympiad It’s hard to separate sport from culture. That’s why art and sport work hand in hand at Paris 2024. The Cultural Olympiad, at the heart of the project, will present a multidisciplinary artistic and cultural programme as part of the Olympic and Paralympic Games Paris 2024. Hundreds of events such as concerts, exhibitions, and performances, will be organised in the capital and throughout France in the run-up to the Games. From September 24, the Musée des Arts Décoratifs will host the major exhibition, Fashion and Sport, from one podium to another . C’est pourquoi, à l’occasion de Paris 2024, art et sport dialoguent ensemble. Au cœur du projet, l’Olympiade culturelle met en valeur une programmation artistique et culturelle pluridisciplinaire dans le cadre des Jeux Olympiques et Paralympiques de Paris 2024. Des centaines d’événements (concerts, expositions, performances, etc.) sont ainsi organisés dans la capitale, mais aussi dans toute la France, en amont des Jeux et jusqu’à la n de l’été 2024.
