Le nouveau Quai de la photo

Premier centre d’art flottant à Paris, le Quai de la photo vient d’ouvrir ses portes dans le 13 e arrondissement de Paris. Amarré en bord de seine, ce nouvel espace de 1 000 m 2 est dédié à la photographie contemporaine en donnant accès gratuitement et librement à des expositions temporaires, mais aussi à des rencontres, conférences et ateliers d’ini tiation autour de cet art. Pour l’ouverture, c’est le photographe anglais Martin Parr qui a été invité à exposer sa série Life’s a Beach tout en invitant à découvrir les clichés d’une jeune photographe contemporaine, Clémen tine Schneidermann. Sur place, on peut éga lement trouver une librairie consacrée à la photographie, un bar et un restaurant et plus étonnant encore, une marina intégrée, d’où on peut s’évader en bateaux pour une croi sière sur la Seine. 9, port de la Gare, Paris 13 e (07 66 43 01 18). 6 Quai de la Gare THE NEW QUAI DE LA PHOTO Quai de la Photo, the first floating art centre in Paris, has opened its doors in Paris’s 13th arron dissement. Moored on the banks of the Seine, this new 11,000-sq-ft (1,000-sq-m) gallery space highlights contemporary photography, with free and unrestricted access to temporary exhibitions, talks, conferences and workshops. The inaugural exhibition features British photo grapher Martin Parr’s series “Life's a Beach”, along with the work of up-and-coming photo grapher, Clémentine Schneidermann. D’un côté l’empereur du pop art, de l’autre l’indomptable gra™eur. De 1984 à 1985, ils réalisent ensemble 160 toiles dans un dialogue de formes fertile et novateur. Comme le suggère le titre de cette rétrospective, leur inspiration et leur style se sont non pas additionnés mais multipliés, pour donner naissance à une entité hypercréative et libre de toute contrainte. L’exposition rassemble plus de la moitié de leurs œuvres, enrichie de portraits croisés, d’œuvres individuelles et d’installations géantes, mis en regard avec des pièces de Keith Haring, Jenny Holzer ou Michael Halsband. La traversée stimulante du New York artistique débridé des années 1980.

From 1984 to 1985, artists Basquiat and Warhol

collaborated on 160 paintings in a fertile and innovative dialogue. As the title of this show suggests, their inspiration didn’t just add up but gave birth to a “four-handed” hypercreative entity. The exhibition brings together more than half of their works, enriched with interwoven portraits, individual pieces, giant installations and works by contemporaries Keith Haring, Jenny Holzer and Michael Halsband. A unique collaboration between the emperor of pop art and the indomitable gra«ti artist and a stimulating immersion into the 1980’s New York art scene.

MUSÉE DES ARTS DÉCORATIFS Des cheveux et des poils

Peut-on faire de l’art avec les cheveux et les poils ? Cette amusante et insolite exposition passe au peigne fin un versant de la mode peu exploré. Au fil des siècles, la représentation du corps change et bouleverse les codes sociaux. Du poil vu comme un attribut animal à l’évolution de la coi™ure féminine, des cheveux comme support de contestation aux stars de la haute couture, plus de 600 œuvres du XV e siècle à nos jours (perruques, sculptures, tableaux, etc.), racontent l’histoire de la construction des apparences, ce qui, sans doute, nous est le plus intime. Hair & Hairs Can art be made with human hair? This surprising exhibit takes a fine comb to a rarely explored side of fashion. Over the centuries, the presentation of the human body has challenged and upset social norms. No exception to the rule, hair has been seen as animal, a sign of sex appeal or protest, and a star of the catwalk. 600 works – including wigs, sculptures, paintings, and more – narrate the story of this intimate attribute from the 15th century to the present day.
