Appelée aussi « fontaine de l’Observatoire », elle représente le monde, ses quatre statues symbolisant l’Afrique, l’Asie, l’Europe et l’Amérique. Oubliée, l’Océanie était encore mal connue à l’époque (1874).

The fountain of the “four parts of the world” features four figures representing Africa, Asia, Europe, and America. The missing continent of Oceania was still little known at the time (1874).
