Qui va succéder à Liv Schulman, lauréate l’an dernier ? Fin 2019, la Fondation d’entreprise Ricard décernera son 21 e  prix pour l’art contemporain, une récompense qui soutient la jeune création. L’historienne d’art Claire Le Restif a en retenu neuf, réunis dans cette exposition oscillant entre peinture (Corentin Canesson), photographie (Simon Boudvin), sculpture (Gaëlle Choisne) ou vidéo (Estefania Penafiel-Loaiza).

Who wll succeed Liz Shulman for the Fondation d’entreprise Ricard’s prize, to be awarded at the end of the year? Art historian Claire Le Restif selected nine contenders represented in this exhibition of paintings (Corentin Canesson), photography (Simon Boudvin), sculpture (Gaëlle Choisne) and video (Estefania Penafiel-Loaiza).

Avant de pouvoir composer l’un de ses chefs-d’œuvre, Grande Femme II , une statue de plus de 2,50 m de haut datant de 1960, le sculpteur Alberto Giacometti a beaucoup travaillé la représentation du nu, en particulier féminin. L’exposition détaille avec minutie les différentes étapes de son tour du corps humain, des premiers dessins des années 1920 aux grandes figures allongées quarante ans plus tard. Parmi les 60 œuvres réunies ici se distinguent aussi les peintures inspirées de sa femme, Annette. Narrating the Body. Before creating his masterpiece StandingWoman II in 1960, sculptor Alberto Giacometti was honing his representation of the nude. This exhibition of some 60 works details the stages of his explorations of the body, from his first drawings in the 1920s to the elongated figures he sculpted 40 years later. Musée du quai Branly-Jacques Chirac, 37, quai Branly, Paris 7 e (01 56 61 70 00, quaibranly.fr). Paradise Palace. Organized with the Taiwanese Cultural Centre, this colorful exhibition recreates a funerary ritual wherein the living offer the deceased coloured paper representations from their lifetime. The Hsin-Hsin and Skea workshops reproduced these ephemeral offerings. L’exposition réalisée avec le centre culturel de Tawaïn met en scène un rite funéraire original. Ceux qui restent offrent aux défunts des figurines de papier chamarrées, copies conformes d’objets utilisés de leur vivant (smartphones, voitures, meubles, etc.) ou de vestiges plus traditionnels. Deux ateliers, Hsin-Hsin et Skea, les reproduisent à Paris et dévoilent ces offrandes riches de détails et éphémères.
